Clemson Football: The Tiger offense will explode this weekend
Many don’t believe Clemson football will be able to move the ball consistently against a very good defense in Wake Forest. Here’s why the Tigers will come alive this weekend.
The Clemson football team will host Wake Forest on Homecoming this weekend.
The Tigers have been inconsistent on offense, but not as bad as many have thought.
I’ve had several Clemson fans message me and ask why the Tigers haven’t been able to move the ball at will.
What I believe is that we all have forgotten about last season and even the season before.
Clemson football scored just 19 on Auburn to open the 2016 season. The Tigers followed that up with 30 points against Troy.
The Tigers scored just 26 against Georgia Tech two weeks later.
It wasn’t until the beginning of October that Clemson football scored 40+ for the first time against an FBS opponent, that was Louisville.
In hindsight, this 2017 Clemson team has been much more dominant game-in-and-game-out than last year’s team, but I believe the offense will take the next step this weekend.
They’ve been playing together for a while now and it’s about time for the team to hit its “midseason stride.”
At the beginning of the season, I predicted that Clemson football would win by about 30 in this game and I still think that will be the case.
Even against a very good Wake Forest defense, the Tigers will just look different on Saturday.
The rushing attack will look smoother. The passing game will take a step forward. Most of all, the offensive line will finally look like a national championship-caliber line.
It takes time for an offense to reach midseason form.
It’s not something that just happens overnight, but this will be the week that the Tigers transform into just that.
