College Football 2017 Picks Against The Spread: Week 6
Entering week six of the 2017 college football season, the ACC features multiple competitive matchups. As such, here’s my picks against the spread.
At the halfway point of the season, 17 teams remain undefeated. Not many of those teams are in jeopardy of losing this week, as there is only one matchup featuring two ranked opponents.
Last week, USC – then No. 5 – fell from the ranks of the undefeated when they traveled to Pullman, Washington to face the Washington State Cougars. Virginia Tech was also handed their first loss of the season at the hands of the Clemson Tigers.
Here are the College Football picks against the spread for week six. All of the current odds are provided by SportsBookReview.com.
#17 Louisville vs. #24 NC State:
Current spread: +3 NC State
Spread prediction: As good as Lamar Jackson is, he’s cannot single-handidly defeat the Wolfpack. Louisville’s offensive line is going to struggle to slow NC State’s defensive line. To make matters worse, The Cardinals must figure out how to stop Ryan Finley and his array of receiving weapons. I’m taking the Wolfpack outright in this one.
Iowa State vs. #3 Oklahoma:
Current spread: +27 Iowa State
Spread prediction: This Oklahoma offense is averaging nearly 50 points on the season. It’ll be difficult for Iowa State to contain the Sooners. That being said, I’m not entirely sold on Oklahoma’s defense. Iowa State will score enough to cover their 27 point spread.
Duke vs. Virginia:
Current spread: +3 Virginia
Spread prediction: Bronco Mendenhall has the Cavaliers playing with much more confidence in his second season as head coach. Duke and Virginia are trending in opposite directions at this point in the season. The Cavaliers are riding a wave of momentum, while the Blue Devils are coming off of a tough loss to Miami. I’m taking Virginia outright in this one.
