Week two of the 2017 college football season offered a litany of big-time matchups. Week three does not feature as impressive a slate of games, however there are a handful of favorable spreads. Here’s my picks against the spread for week three.
Picking against the spread this early in the season is difficult, because of the uncertainty surrounding most programs. It’s more like guessing against the spread until teams get into the meat of their schedule.
Just last week many expected Ohio State’s heralded defense to shut down Baker Mayfield and Oklahoma. Clearly we were wrong about the OSU secondary at this point in the season as Mayfield threw for 386 yards and three touchdowns on the Buckeyes.
Here are the College Football picks against the spread for week three. All of the current odds are provided by SportsBookReview.com.
#19 Stanford vs. San Diego State
Current Spread: -9 Stanford
Spread prediction: While the Cardinal were clearly out-manned against USC, they should still be more than a nine point favorite over San Diego State. If anything, the loss to Southern Cal will light a fire under Stanford coming into this contest. I expect at least a 10 point victory for David Shaw’s group.
Oregon vs. Wyoming:

Current Spread: -14 Oregon
Spread prediction: I don’t see how Oregon isn’t a more`overwhelming favorite over Wyoming. Outside of star-quarterback, Josh Allen, the Cowboys don’t have much. The Iowa Hawkeyes pummeled the Cowboys 24-3, behind a pro-style attack. Oregon’s offensive firepower should put up their fair share of points. I expect his one to be a blowout north of 14 points.
Kentucky vs. South Carolina:
Current Spread: -7 South Carolina
Spread prediction: Will Muschamp’s Gamecocks have been impressive through the first two weeks of the season. They started out the year with a signature win over a tough NC squad and followed that up with a blowout victory over Missouri. I think South Carolina is capable of earning a convincing win over Kentucky.
