Clemson Football Overcomes Auburn: Turning Point
The Clemson football team improved to 2-0 with a win over the Auburn Tigers on Saturday, but what was the turning point in the Tigers’ victory?
The Clemson football team overcame a tough Auburn Tiger test on Saturday, defeating the War Eagles 14-6.
Auburn took advantage of a couple of penalties and then a Clemson turnover to take an early 6-0 lead.
Many Clemson football fans were beginning to wonder what the Tigers would do. Clemson was held to just six total yards of offense in the first quarter.
But then something happened that changed the outcome of the game. Here was the turning point for Clemson football.
Turning Point:
Believe it or not, I think it was Kelly Bryant’s injury.

The Clemson football offense looked like a completely different unit after Bryant came back from the injury he suffered.
The Tigers moved the ball right down the field and scored to take a 7-6 lead into halftime. The defense was dominant basically from start-to-finish, but it needed some help from the offense.
After Bryant came back in the game, the offense provided that help.
The unit still had its’ struggles throughout the rest of the game, but they did what they needed to do in order to win. I also think seeing Kelly Bryant power his way into the end zone after being knocked out earlier was huge.
That showed leadership and gave an added lift to an offense in need of someone to step up.
I don’t think it was necessarily Bryant being injured. I think it was what happened when he returned.
I believe the coaching staff sat the offense down and talked to them. I think that calmed their nerves and helped them go out and perform.
It was almost as if that was when the offense took a deep breath, settled in and went to work.
