The Clemson football team will open up its season with the Kent State Golden Flashes on Saturday. Here’s our tailgating recipe for you try this week.
Over the entire Clemson football season, we will be giving you some awesome recipes to try over your tailgate as you get ready for College Football.
From wings, to sliders, to BBQ, to dessert and so much more, the tailgating recipe feature will be the place to go for great food to prepare for each and every Clemson football game.
This week to start everything off, however, we’re not going to have a recipe.
Rather, I’d like to share with you three places that you can get food around the Clemson area that are not only great choices for your tailgate, but for your entire weekend in Tiger Town.
Smokin’ Pig
Let’s start with the one every Clemson football fan should know about. Located on Clemson Boulevard in Pendleton, South Carolina, the Smokin’ Pig is certainly the talk of the town.
The Smokin’ Pig features amazing brisket, BBQ, burgers, ribs, and so much more.
If you have some extra time on your GameDay morning, stop by Smokin’ Pig for some awesome Tailgating Packages. They include pork, baked beans, cole slaw, potato salad, and tea.
They are open at 9 a.m. before every single Clemson football home game.

Joe’s New York Pizza
Feeling a little Italian before watching the Tigers play?
Located on Thomas Green Boulevard in Clemson, Joes’ New York Pizza provides authentic Italian food at a nice price.
They have garlic knots, meatball marina, great pizza and so much more.
If you’re looking for anything Italian, whether that be spaghetti, pizza, or calzones, Joe’s has it.
TD’s of Clemson
We’ve talked about BBQ, burgers, and pizza.
What’s the one thing we’re leaving out? Wings.
TD’s of Clemson is located right on College Boulevard not too far from the stadium. They have much more than wings there, but if you’re looking for a place with wings, I’d check it out.
It can be busy, but they do have 20 different flavors to choose from and you can get it to go if you’re ready to get out to your tailgate.
