1. Winning is in the culture

Now, I know what you’re thinking if you’re not a Clemson football fan reading this. Here’s another “brainwashed” article about how Clemson has ascended to the “elite” level of College Football after winning one National Championship.

While I do believe that the Tigers have ascended to the elite ranks of the College Football world, it’s not based on just that one National Championship.

It’s based on Clemson football being the most consistent program other than Alabama the last half-decade.

More from Rubbing the Rock

Clemson has won 10+ games every season for the past six years. In that time, the Tigers have won three ACC Championships, beaten programs such as Alabama, LSU, Ohio State (twice), and Oklahoma (twice). They’ve made it to the College Football Playoff National Championship game two years in a row.

Even before Deshaun Watson, Clemson football had won 10+ games three years in a row and it is going to continue to see this kind of success in the future.

Clemson has recruited just as well as anyone in the nation and the coaching staff that we just talked about aren’t just getting the kids to come to this University in the Upstate of South Carolina, they are developing them into NFL-caliber players.

The No. 1 reason the Clemson football can make the College Football Playoff in 2017 is because of the culture that Dabo Swinney and his staff has built.

Because of that culture, recruits are coming in by the buses and Clemson is getting commitments from all over the nation. Because of that culture, the Tigers have consistently beaten the teams they are supposed and put the tired term “Clemsoning” to bed.

There’s a winning culture at Alabama. There’s a winning culture at Ohio State. And there’s a winning culture at Clemson.

That means something and that is why I don’t believe you will see Clemson go anywhere. The Tigers are going to prove that they are one of the mainstays in the College Football Playoff conversation, not just for this year, but for years to come because as Dabo Swinney says:

“The best is yet to come.”
