The Clemson football team held their annual weigh-ins yesterday as part of the beginning of fall camp. Here are the biggest takeaways.
The Clemson football players weighed in yesterday and there were several takeaways.
Here are some of the most intriguing storylines from yesterday’s weigh-in.
- Kelly Bryant and Hunter Johnson both looked good.
Kelly Bryant weighed in at 222 and freshman Hunter Johnson weighed in at 210. Both of those weights are higher than I was expecting.
Bryant finished spring practice at 215 and put on seven pounds of muscle while Hunter Johnson enters his first fall at 210 (10 pounds more than when he originally came on campus back in January.
Zerrick Cooper, who is listed as a co-backup on Clemson football’s summer depth chart also weighed in at 219.
- The offensive line is about as solid as they can be
Whenever you athletic linemen that weigh over 300 pounds, you are doing something right.
All five starters from the summer depth chart- LT Mitch Hyatt (302), LG Taylor Hearn (321), C Justin Falconelli (304), RG Tyrone Crowder (338), RT Sean Pollard (307)- are over 300 pounds, which should prove to be a huge help for whichever quarterback lines up under center.

Pollard actually lost nearly 10 pounds, which will be good at that right tackle spot and Tremayne Anchrum, who is listed as a co-starter at right tackle weighs in at a solid 288.
- Freshmen with beef
There are several true-freshmen coming in that already have the size to compete and play at the collegiate level.
Here are some of the most notable:
WR Tee Higgins (197)
CB A.J. Terrell (188)
QB Hunter Johnson (210) as mentioned earlier
OL Noah DeHond (303)
WR Amari Rodgers (212)
- Tavien Feaster is a beast
Adam Choice weighed in at 210 lbs and C.J. Fuller weighed in at 209, but Tavien Feaster- the track athlete- weighed in at 222.
Yes, you heard that right. 222. Feaster, the fastest running back on the roster is also the heaviest. He has put on quite a bit of muscle, hopefully to pass-block.
That is an extremely encouraging sign for Clemson football fans wanting to see the prolific running back see time in the backfield.
