After watching Lawrence go through all of the drills, Cowherd posted the following tweet.
These are kind words from Cowherd considering his remarks about Clemson heading into the 2016 College Football Playoff. According to The Spun, Cowherd said the following of Clemson.
"Clemson’s a fraud. Clemson is going to get their ears boxed by whoever they play. They should have three losses, maybe four. I don’t buy into Clemson."
Dabo Swinney scolded him accordingly after the Tigers upended Alabama in the National Championship game. It appears that the war of words between Cowherd and Clemson is through. There is no denying Lawrence’s talent regardless what your stance on Clemson is.
At 6-foot-6, 215 pounds, Lawrence is comfortable standing in the pocket and scouring the field. His arm strength is something that immediately jumps out to you whether it be on tape or in person. Earlier this offseason, Alex Kirshner of SB Nation claimed, “When Lawrence throws a football, it has a degree of zip that high school arms shouldn’t be able to produce.”
Is Trevor Lawrence a better high school prospect than Deshaun Watson?
With Lawrence already in the fold, Clemson is undoubtedly one of the most intriguing programs in the country to elite wide receiver prospects. Who wouldn’t want to catch passes from a talent like Lawrence. The Tigers are heavily in the mix for a handful of wide receiver prospects in the 2018 recruiting class including 5-star wide receiver, Justyn Ross.
