5-star DE prospect Xavier Thomas commits to Clemson
The Clemson Tigers have landed a huge commitment from 5-star defensive end prospect Xavier Thomas.
Thomas’ commitment gives Clemson the No. 1 (Trevor Lawrence) and 2 overall players in the country in the 2018 recruiting class according to 247sports. Their had been speculation coming into this weekend that Thomas was nearing a decision.
Thomas took to twitter this morning to announce his commitment.

Pairing Thomas with recent defensive end commit, Justin Mascoll gives the Tigers one of the best pass rushing duos in the country. Clemson is red hot on the recruiting trail at the moment, as such don’t be surprised if they are able to make up some ground in the recruitment of Zamir White, the No. 1 running back prospect in the country.
White will be on campus with Thomas to take in today’s spring game. The Clemson Tigers 2018 recruiting class will be small in terms of quantity, however, it is shaping up to be historic in terms of quality.
