Isaiah Simmons

Freshman Isaiah Simmons very well may play a ton of snaps out of pure necessity.

The one position that Clemson football lacks depth in this season is in the defensive backfield. That is why it was so important for the Tigers to pick up a surprise commitment from Simmons on National Signing Day in early February.

He is a vicious hitter and extremely physical.

Here is what Brent Venables had to say about the 4-star safety.

"“He’s a big, long-bodied guy that can run. He’s just working on technique and working on what to do so we can get him to play sure of himself. He’s got a good foundation, so moving forward we’ll see how he continues to progress and whether or not he hits that wall at some point in time.”"

Simmons will play behind Jadar Johnson, but will also vie for playing time on the special teams as well. Tiger fans will see more and more of him as we get into the thick of the season.
