Deon Cain

One of the most promising receivers coming into the 2016 Clemson football is Deon Cain.

Cain proved that he was an elite talent and was really coming on at the end of the season before being sent home and suspended for the College Football Playoff due to a violation of team rules.

That also led to him having to sit out spring practice, but now Cain has been reinstated and we can look at what he was able to do last season in a fairly limited role.

Deon Cain was third on the team in receiving yardage with 582 yards and led the team with 17.1 yards per catch.

After having to sit out the Miami game, Cain bounced back with a receiving touchdown in each of Clemson’s five remaining regular season games.

He certainly looked the part and gave Deshaun Watson a deep-ball threat in place of Mike Williams.

I believe Cain has refocused himself and will come back a strong player and, more importantly, person because of the suspension and will have a chance to be a leading receiver for Clemson football.

He definitely has the talent and this could be the year he emerges on the national scene as a true-sophomore.
