Tight End
Bennie Cunningham
Bennie Cunnigham had a great blend of athleticism and strength that made him one of the greatest tight ends to ever play for Clemson football. Cunnigham played at Clemson from 1972 through 1975 and, as a tight end, led the team in receptions in both 1973 and 1974. He was a two-time All-American and was named to the All-ACC team in both 1974 and 1975.

He was drafted in the first round as the 28th overall selection by the Pittsburgh Steelers and ended up playing in the NFL for 10 seasons.
Bennie Cunnigham finished his Clemson career with 64 receptions for 1,044 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also went on to catch 202 passes for 2,879 yards and 20 touchdowns in the NFL and was inducted to the Clemson Football Hall of Fame in 1984.
Dwayne Allen
Dwayne Allen got better as his career progressed and is currently having a great career in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts. Allen has a great pair of hands and also has athleticism for a tight end. During his time at Clemson, he caught 93 passes for 1,079 yards and had 12 touchdowns.
In 2011, Allen was named a consensus All-American and he went on to be drafted in the third round. No one realized just how good of a tight end he was until later, in my opinion, but he had a rare blend of strength and athleticism that made him an extremely talented tight end.
