Running back

I decided to also take three running backs on the all-time dream team for Clemson football. One from the new era of College Football and two from 20th century.

C.J. Spiller

There’s no question that C.J. Spiller belongs on this team as he was, in my opinion, the most explosive Clemson football player of all-time. Spiller finished his time as a Tiger with 3,547 yards and 32 touchdowns, while averaging 5.9 yards per attempt. Spiller’s explosiveness and pure speed are what set him apart from the other running backs. If he got out in the open field, there was no catching him. He left defenders in the dust and was a threat to take it to the house any and every time he touched the ball.

Terry Allen/Raymond Priester/Terrence Flagler

Your three backups on the dream team of Clemson football are Terrence Flagler, Terry Allen and Raymond Priester. All three of these these running backs were extremely explosive and strong in their time at Clemson.

Flagler finished the 1986 season as a First Team All-American by the Football Writers’ Association and the runner-up for the ACC Player of the Year.

Raymond Priester is still the all-time leading rusher in Clemson football history with 3,966 yards and 21 touchdowns, while Terry Allen finished with 2,165 yards in just 22 games with an average of 5.4 yards per carry.
