Clemson Football: All-Time Dream Team
Defensive Tackle
I want to preface this slide by saying that there are a ton of players that were eligible and could have been named as the all-time defensive tackles for Clemson football. Here are the three I was able to narrow it down to after mulling it over for a while.
William “The Fridge” Perry
The first defensive tackle selected is William “The Fridge” Perry. Perry was, without a doubt, one of the best defensive tackles to ever play at Clemson and ended up having a great professional football career, as well. Perry was a consensus All-American in 1983 and had success at every single level of football.

As a freshman, Clemson won the National Championship and Perry was one of the most valuable players on the defense. When he went to the NFL, he led the Chicago Bears to a Super Bowl.
Chester McGlockton/Jeff Bryant
Chester McGlockton and Jeff Bryant make up the second spot on the defensive tackle depth chart. Chester McGlockton was one of the most dominant defensive tackles in the history of Clemson football and ended up having a nice little NFL career, as well. McGlockton ended up being a four-time Pro Bowler.
Jeff Bryant played with Perry on the 1981 National Championship team. He was one of the leaders on Clemson’s defense that season and ended up getting inducted into the Clemson football Hall of Fame in 1996.
