1. He’s leading through word and action

Deshaun Watson is also a leader. He leads the Clemson football team with class and poise and does a great job representing Clemson University. Here is what the Heisman Trophy states on its website about the award:

"The Heisman Memorial Trophy annually recognizes the outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity. Winners epitomize great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, and hard work."

No one has worked harder than Deshaun Watson. Watson has battled several injuries his freshman season, including a torn ACL that needed rehab to come back this season.

Many doubted he would ever stay healthy to be a good quarterback for Clemson football. He pushed through that adversity, however, with diligence, perseverance, and hard work.

That work ethic has effected the teammates of Deshaun Watson. His confidence and poise make the rest of the team calm down in big situations and he is able to carry himself only as a true winner can. It’s amazing if you just look at this kid’s demeanor how he is a natural born leader.

There is no doubt that Deshaun Watson leads by example and does so through spoken word, when needed, but also through action.

His working habits and confidence have spread to the rest of the team. There’s no doubt in my mind that Deshaun Watson deserves the Heisman Trophy because of his ability to lead and his performance on the field. He is able to play at a high level and is currently leading the #1 team in the nation to the College Football Playoff.
