Last week, Clemson had very few opportunities to get to the quarterback in passing situations. As a matter of fact, the Terriers only threw the ball a total of 18 times and most of those passes were short and quick. With that being said, we did not get to see what the Tigers’ defensive line looks like when the quarterback drops back to pass.

What you should be looking for Saturday is how the defensive line, especially Shaq Lawson, performs in getting to the quarterback. You want to see Lawson prove that he can provide a consistent pass-rush and see the others fall in his footsteps. With the triple-option, Lawson walked away Saturday rather quiet, but hopefully this week he puts himself back on the map.

Shaq Lawson is without a doubt one of the leaders on this Clemson defensive line and is expected to get pressure on the quarterback. He has proven that he can help in the run-stop, but now I want to see him get pressure on the quarterback. Lawson certainly has the talent to do it and hopefully this week he leads the Clemson defensive line in getting to Taylor Lamb.
