Will Deshaun Watson be healthy?

I know, we’ve beat this question like a dead horse since February, basically. Will he be healthy? Can he play the entire season? Will that knee hold up? We have talked about this topic more than anything else when previewing the season. Go to any national preview of the 2015 Clemson football season and it won’t be far into the analysis before they mention Deshaun Watson and his health.

We’ve talked about this so much I am sick and tired of hearing about it. From all accounts, Watson is 100% ready to go and I wish I could just let this question go, but I can’t. The reason why? THIS IS THE KEY TO CLEMSON’S SEASON. If you want me to tell you how successful the 2015 Clemson football season will be, tell me how many games Deshaun Watson plays.

More from Clemson Football

If he plays an entire season, then Clemson is probably ACC Champions and College Football Playoff contenders. If he only plays half, you may be looking at an eight to nine win season. Your chances of winning certainly go down at the very least. If you want to know the key to Clemson being successful this season, it does not lye on the defensive line, a kicker, or new co-offensive coordinators. Clemson’s success is almost directly related to Deshaun Watson being on the field. This kid is just special and when he is on the field, the offense moves more smoothly.

Now, I’m not saying the other things aren’t important and they certainly could cost you a game down the road if they are not solid, but your Heisman Candidate quarterback is the key to this season. What he does will directly affect the team and I believe you’re in good hands. I think he will be healthy this season and will be ready to lead the Tigers to success this season.
