The Clemson football team opened up 2017 with a win over the Kent State Golden Flashes on Saturday. Here are three takeaways from the matchup.

Clemson football dominated Kent State on Saturday, defeating the Golden Flashes 56-3.

The Tigers celebrated the 2016 National Championship run by unveiling the new banner before the game and it was clear there was an electric atmosphere in Death Valley.

From the beginning to the end, Clemson football controlled the flow of the game. The offense played very well and the defense held Kent State to just five first downs.
