Just days after missing on a five-star defensive back to Notre Dame, Clemson football could make up for that with the addition of another blue-chip defensive back on the recruiting trail.

The Tigers are finalists for four-star cornerback Danny Odem who visited campus on May 30 which was the first of six official visits to Auburn, Oklahoma, Penn State, Ohio State, and Nebraska.

Now, Odem has set a commitment date of June 23 and Clemson is a finalist.

Clemson, Ohio State, Penn State, Nebraska, and Oklahoma are his final five schools and he's planning to announce his decision at 5 p.m. ET on Monday evening.

It's somewhat surprising to see a lack of SEC teams (outside of Oklahoma) as well as Florida schools considering he's from SEC territory down in Orlando, Fla. Usually the top prospects from the state of Florida at least consider Florida, Florida State, Miami, and even UCF.

The Tigers are the most "southern" team in the race for Odem who could heavily consider Clemson because it's closest to his home in Orlando.

Odem is ranked the No. 247 prospect in the 2026 class as well as the 22nd-best cornerback, according to 247Sports. And when you talk about potential suitors for his services at the collegiate level, he could basically take his pick of which program to commit to as he holds over 50 (!!) offers. That's not a typo, he holds offers from nearly half the teams in college football.

Clemson has been producing elite defensive backs regularly so that should help the Tigers in their pursuit of Odem who is set to decide on Monday.
