The first commitment from the initial official visit weekend of the summer has officially come for Dabo Swinney and Clemson football.
After hosting over 30 recruits this past weekend, Clemson's 2026 class hadn't grown from it, but that changed on Wednesday afternoon as four-star interior offensive lineman Leo Delaney sat down to make a decision between his three finalists.
All signs were pointing to Clemson being chosen because he had just visited and hadn't taken trips to Michigan and Penn State yet and that was confirmed at 4 p.m. ET with a commitment.
Delaney committed to the Tigers over Penn State and Michigan and presumably canceled his scheduled official visits to the other two which were expected to happen over the next two weekends. This is a major commitment as those two programs are also national title contenders almost every year these days.
On3 has Delaney ranked as a top five interior offensive lineman in the 2026 class and 247Sports ranks him as the No. 5 interior offensive lineman as well as the No. 62 overall recruit.
On the composite, he's a little lower, ranked No. 133 in the class and he's the sixth-best interior offensive lineman in the 2026 class. He held over 30 offers from the likes of Michigan, Penn State, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC, West Virginia, and Wisconsin, among others.
This offer list as well as his overall ranking and the finalists all being known to develop elite offensive linemen shows just how good and coveted Delaney is.
Clemson's 2026 class is now up to 16 commitments.
