Clemson doesn’t need hype to return to unanimous preseason Top 25 territory. It needs answers — fast, visible ones.
The Tigers’ omission from several early rankings isn’t permanent. It’s conditional. And that means the path back is clear.
1. End the quarterback ambiguity
Nothing shapes preseason belief more than quarterback clarity. Clemson doesn’t need a superstar label — it needs decisiveness. A named starter, consistent messaging and visible command will do more for perception than any spring stat line.
2. Show offense with intent
Change alone won’t convince analysts. Clemson must show direction: spacing, tempo, efficiency. If the offense looks modern and decisive in spring and preseason settings, the narrative shifts quickly.
3. Make portal restraint pay off
Clemson’s selective portal approach only works if additions contribute immediately. Early defensive impact, especially in coverage and pass rush, would validate the strategy and quiet skepticism.
4. Reclaim ACC ownership
Preseason rankings are heavily shaped by league hierarchy. If Clemson is clearly viewed as the ACC’s most complete roster, omission becomes difficult to justify — regardless of last season’s record.
5. Win the quiet months
Spring reports matter. Fall camp narratives matter. Clemson must control the informational space before doubt solidifies into consensus.
The Tigers don’t need to convince everyone. They need to remove enough doubt that leaving them out looks irresponsible.
Do that — and unanimous Top 25 inclusion follows naturally.
