Forget dressing for the job you want—Olivier-Maxence Prosper went out and played like a man on a mission, chasing down the contract he knew he deserved.

On March 5, 2026, the Memphis Grizzlies made it official—Prosper’s relentless hustle earned him a multi-year standard deal, no more two-way. For OMP, it’s the payoff for a mindset that’s carried him from the grind of the ACC, through the battles of the Big East, and now onto the NBA stage.

"I never walked or moved like I was on a two-way," Prosper told the Memphis Flyer. "I saw myself like I deserve to be here. I belong here."

The Clemson Roots and the Marquette Rise

Before he was making noise in Memphis, OMP was cutting his teeth right here in Tiger Town. Prosper started his college journey at Clemson in 2020–21, suiting up for 22 games as a freshman. The numbers weren’t flashy—2.5 points a night—but his 6-foot-8 frame and relentless motor on defense had folks in the Upstate buzzing about his upside.

Chasing a bigger opportunity, Prosper took his talents to Marquette, and that’s where his game took off. Under Shaka Smart, he morphed into a true NBA-caliber wing, capping his junior year with 12.5 points per game and a reputation for wrecking Big East offenses. That breakout made him the 24th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

The "Portland Performance" That Sealed the Deal

The Grizzlies coaches saw it coming, but the rest of the league finally woke up on February 7 in Portland. That night, Prosper torched the Blazers for a career-high 25, attacking the rim with authority and finishing everything he touched..

"Go Get That Bread"

The news hit home in one of the NBA’s youngest locker rooms. GG Jackson II remembered a talk he had with Prosper earlier this season—a moment that summed up their shared grind.

"He told me, ‘Bro, we gotta earn our spot. You gotta make them pay us,’" Jackson said. "Before every game I think about that. Go get that bread."

Head coach Tuomas Iisalo echoed that sentiment, noting that Prosper’s reliability became essential during a season of lineup adjustments. "Ever since he showed up here, his work ethic has been tremendous. He's improved on both sides of the ball.
