With the NBA regular season barreling toward the finish line, our Pro-Tigers are making their presence felt when it matters most. From PJ Hall’s homecoming in Charlotte to Hunter Tyson’s championship chase in Denver, you can’t watch a big game this week without seeing a little bit of Clemson orange shining through.
PJ Hall | Center | Charlotte Hornets
The headline every Tiger fan loves: PJ Hall is back with the Hornets. He’s sitting out tonight against Phoenix with some ankle soreness, but make no mistake—since signing that two-way deal, PJ has brought the same fire and toughness we saw in Littlejohn straight to the NBA.
The Stat Line: 6.1 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 0.7 APG
Efficiency Watch: 50.0% FG / 80.8% FT
The Outlook: In just 15.6 minutes a night, PJ is showing he belongs. He’s crashing the glass for 2.5 offensive boards per game and giving Charlotte the grit they’ve been missing. Look for him to be back in action Friday against Indiana, with the play-in race heating up and every possession counting double.
Hunter Tyson | Forward | Denver Nuggets
Out west, Hunter Tyson—our 2023 ACC First-Teamer—is grinding for the defending champs. Minutes are tough to snag on a stacked Nuggets squad, but Hunt is the kind of pro every coach loves: always ready, always reliable, always repping Clemson the right way.
The Stat Line: 2.2 PPG, 1.7 RPG, 7.7 MPG
Efficiency Watch: 84.6% FT
The Outlook: Tyson has suited up for 21 games, even earning a pair of starts. The shots haven’t always fallen, but his poise and a +7 plus/minus against OKC prove he’s a winner. When the Nuggets need a big bucket in the playoffs, don’t be shocked if Hunt steps up and buries a corner three—just like he did in Tigertown.
Tiger Watch: The G League Grind
We’re also keeping a close eye on the Greensboro Swarm and other affiliates where our younger alumni are waiting for their call. The path PJ Hall took—from a two-way deal to a meaningful NBA role—is the new standard.
Final Thought:
This is what it’s all about for Clemson Basketball. Two of our own suiting up in the NBA when the lights are brightest—if you’re a recruit, how do you not want to be next?
