As Clemson is striving to make it back into the College Football Playoff, the arch-rival South Carolina Gamecocks are just hoping to sell out their stadium. While the Gamecocks have been able to pack Williams-Brice in recent years, Shane Beamer's team needs some help in the ticket department with none other than Costco. South Carolina is one of seven FBS programs with which Costco is working.
Brett McMurphy of On3 shared the details of the seven schools who are selling discounted tickets.

While Louisville and Washington are also playoff contenders, as well as Tulane being the reigning Group of Five champion, this is not great company to have with FAU, Temple, and UConn. Truth be told, not every program is able to sell out its full allocation of home tickets every season. That being said, so much for South Carolina having one of the greatest home environments in college football...
This just goes to show that the Gamecocks might not bounce back from last season's catastrophe.
Even South Carolina fans are not buying into this year's Gamecocks team
While both teams will probably be ranked in and around the top-25 to start the season, Clemson has simply been the steadier of the two programs. Dabo Swinney may have his detractors, but he is not as much of a ball of pure, unrefined emotion as Beamer is. The South Carolina head coach's antics will occasionally get the Gamecocks over the top, but far too often get in the way of building any stability.
With Swinney's streak of having at least one 10-win season every other year in jeopardy, the Tigers need to take advantage of the Gamecocks being in a state of flux. While South Carolina did win the previous meeting with Clemson at Death Valley, the Tigers need to protect their house better. South Carolina should be a bowl-caliber team this year, but anything more than that may be pushing it a bit.
Regardless, while poking fun at South Carolina is always a blast, Clemson's season could be decided long before the Palmetto Bowl gets here. This is the most important thing Clemson needs to do is go at least 7-1 in ACC play. That could get them back to Charlotte. If Clemson picks up wins over Miami early and at LSU in the non-conference, they may be a playoff lock before the South Carolina game.
Overall, we will just have to wait and see how South Carolina's season unfolds before Palmetto arrives. If the Gamecocks return to 2024 form, this could be a play-in game for the playoff. If the Gamecocks are as bad as they were a season ago, then this becomes a can't-lose game for Clemson. Either way, Clemson fans may need to avoid Costco for the time being to avoid having tickets forced upon them.
Right now, there is no amount of money or offer from Costco to bring Clemson fans over to Columbia.
