RTR’s theme for this week’s game against Appalachian State has been “rebound,“ but Clemson decided that was the wrong basketball reference. Instead, they came out of the first quarter looking like prime Shaquille O’Neal shattering the backboard.

The Tigers are on pace to record 1396 yards in this game alone after gaining 349 yards in the first quarter, scoring five passing touchdowns. Bryant Wesco had three receptions for 130 yards and a touchdown after two 50-plus-yard passes.

Phil Mafah also joined in on the fun with an 83-yard touchdown run on the third offensive series. The other touchdowns came from three different players: Cade Klubnik on a QB keeper, Jake Briningstool, and Antonia Williams.

The defense has only allowed 58 net yards so far. The Tigers allowed 59 yards through the air but held the Mountaineers to -1-yard rushing.
