Clemson is in the process of routing its first ACC opponent, scoring 42 points in the first half. NC State hasn't been able to keep up after taking Clemson's haymakers out of the gate. The Wolfpack showed some life in the second quarter after scoring a touchdown, but they only gained 70 yards in comparison to the 94 they recorded in the first quarter.

The defense is showing why Clemson was a top-15 ranked team at the beginning of the season. The group has been in NC State's backfield all day, sacking CJ Bailey twice, recording five tackles for loss, two quarterback hurries, and two forced fumbles, which they recovered.

On the other side of the ball, the Tigers are running all over NC State. Phil Mafah leads the team with 96 yards. However, all five players with a rush attempt are averaging at least 5.5 yards per carry. The time couldn't be better for the running game to start rolling. It'll help the Tigers passing game if they can keep to production up.
