Clemson Football: 5 Schools we’d like to kick out of the ACC

Clemson Football wants to leave the Atlantic Coast Conference because there are a few athletic programs dragging down its value. It is a shame we can't just kick a few out.

Duke Blue Devils

Back to the hard decisions. Duke is one of my Momma’s schools. This is hard, even though I have no real love for their men’s basketball team.

That, of course, is the crown jewel of the Blue Devil athletic department. As much as I don’t like them, they have been a blue blood in basketball since the 1980s.

If you ever needed more proof of what I said on the previous slide about Syracuse – that there is no way a successful & popular men’s basketball program is going to overcome the drag of a poor football program – you need look no further than Durham, North Carolina.

67th in viewership and 69th in attendance. By the way, there were only 69 programs in that study. It is a crying shame that one day a program like Duke Men’s Basketball could be left out of a Power college sports conference because its football program has been so lousy for so long.
