Clemson Football had some good freshmen who redshirted because of injury or illness. Here are five who could make an impact in 2024.

Misun Kelley

Position: Wide receiver/special teams

Hometown: Central, South Carolina

High School: D.W. Daniel High School

247Sports Composite Rating: 3-star

Height: 5’-10”

Weight: 180 pounds

Reason for redshirt: Injury

Kelley’s commitment wasn’t appreciated by some cynical Tiger fans because he is from Daniel HS. A lot of those fans assume Daniel offers come because of either failure by the staff to recruit someone better, laziness, or nepotism.

While many scouts felt Kelley might fit better as a cornerback, Clemson communicated an intent to start him at wide receiver. It wasn’t long before we heard whispers from coaches and observers that Kelley was proving the cynical fans to be wrong.

Unfortunately, that is about the most evidence we have. Kelley saw some playing time but injuries forced him to end his season early and have surgery.

Going into 2024, the Tigers intend to use Kelley a good bit on special teams. Again, we heard the whispers in the spring. This time it was his teammates who were mentioning his name as well.

Kelley didn’t really have a great chance to showcase his abilities in the spring game, but we can expect to see him quite a bit this year on special teams.
