5 Clemson Football players we missed out on in EA Sports College Football

Clemson Football fans were robbed of playing with some of the greatest Tigers of all time because of EA Sports College Football's hiatus during one of the most successful eras in the program's history.

Trevor Lawrence

Clemson fans will be able to debate whether Watson or Lawrence was the greatest quarterback of all time for years to come. I have my opinion, but when it comes to this subject, it is irrelevant. Both would have been great EA Sports College Football quarterbacks who I would have led to several National Championships.

Lawrence announced his arrival in the spring game as a freshman. From that moment on, Tiger Nation couldn’t wait to see what he could do.

One thing about that first season that many of us don’t remember or think about: Lawrence was often uncoordinated and downright clumsy. He could throw a ball a mile but he never looked like he was a guy who would one day run for a 67-yard touchdown scramble against Ohio State in a College Football Playoff semifinal.

EA Sports would have made him a great passing quarterback as a sophomore, but as a junior they would have added the running ability that the nation saw in that Fiesta Bowl.

The team’s biggest success came when Lawrence was a freshman, but his incarnation as a senior in 2020 would have been an unstoppable machine in the video game. Great passer and runner, all wrapped up in a 6’-6” frame.
