3 questions about the Clemson Football offensive line this spring

A lot of eyes will be on Matt Luke and his first squad at Clemson. Here are three high level questions regarding the offensive line this spring.

The offensive line for Clemson Football has a new coach this season: Matt Luke, formerly the head coach at Ole Miss and the line coach for Georgia when they won the national championship three seasons ago. Luke coached in the Gator Bowl but admitted there wasn't much he could do as far as system installation - that would come this spring.

The offensive line will be one of the most watched units over the next few weeks. Here are merely the three biggest questions I am thinking about as Luke begins his tenure as the offensive line coach this spring.

Will Walker Parks be ready?

Outside of center, the Tigers have players returning at each starting position. Tristan Leigh and Blake Miller at the tackles and Marcus Tate at left guard.

Walker Parks is returning and would be the presumed starter at right guard if he is healthy. Parks was lost to injury early in the 2024 season.

If Parks isn’t able to train and prepare this spring, summer, and/or fall, that will put him in a difficult place. Luke will be doing a lot of evaluating during that time.

If Parks isn’t ready to play this fall or he is so far behind that he isn’t ready to jump into the starting lineup right away, then Harris Sewell would likely be the next man up at right guard, which might throw a monkey wrench into another topic of discussion for the offensive line this fall.
