After taking a year off and fending off some retirement rumors, former Clemson receiver Hunter Renfrow is making an NFL comeback with one of the league's up-and-coming organizations.
That's right, Renfrow is back in the league after signing with the Carolina Panthers.

This is great news for Clemson fans who heard a rumor about him contemplating retirement earlier this offseason and he shook that off only to return to the league just one day after the 2025 NFL Draft concluded. He gives Bryce Young and the Panthers another veteran receiver to rely on.
Renfrow is a proven NFL wideout, playing in the league from 2019-2023, recording a total of 269 receptions for 2,884 yards and 17 touchdowns and it feels like he's just scratched the surface.
The former Clemson wideout played in all 17 games with the Raiders in 2023 before failing to sign with anyone in the offseason before 2024. His major dip in production from 2021 to 2022 and 2023 had to lead to his lack of a contract as he went from a 1,000-yard receiver to a guy who combined for just over 500 receiving yards in the final two years of his contract in Las Vegas.
Now, he'll have a chance to help that Carolina offense next season with Young showing plenty of signs of improvement throughout the 2024 campaign.
This return to football comes as a bit of a surprise to everyone, but Clemson fans have to feel vindicated because he was almost the surest thing to a successful NFL player that there has been to come through the program. The former national title game hero is back in the league and hopefully he gets back on track in 2025.
