The Greensboro Swarm are discovering what Clemson fans knew all these years:

PJ Hall is a problem in the paint.

In a 126-103 demolition of the Windy City Bulls Monday, Hall kept crushing through the G-League. The 6-foot-8 center scored 19 points with an 8-of-13 that was so quick and efficient, while vacuuming up 11 rebounds and swatting two blocks in 27 minutes.

It wasn’t something that just happened once. Hall has defined consistency for the Swarm as its main big man, pulling off a double-double in four of his last five games. Since signing a two-way contract with the Charlotte Hornets on Christmas Eve, Hall has bounced back and forth between Greensboro and the NBA roster. He has had his ups and downs.

As the Hornets were contending with a slew of early-January injuries to their frontcourt — Ryan Kalkbrenner and Mason Plumlee among them — Hall stepped into the spotlight, making the **first NBA start of his career** on January 2 with an opener against the Milwaukee Bucks. He’s doing the “heavy lifting” in Greensboro right now, but his efficiency has made it difficult for the Hornets to retain him in the G-League.

In 15 appearances with the Swarm, Hall is averaging a nearly double-double while functioning as a bona fide rim protector. Now, after playing out all the way through the 2024 postseason for All-ACC, that former standout is finally starting to show action on the Denver Nuggets, Memphis Grizzlies and Charlotte Hornets systems with only two seasons in the game. If this trend holds, Hall is not just a “G-League center” — he is a real NBA rotation piece to wait for his next call-up for an NBA rotation.

As the Hornets near the finish line of their roster for what is expected in season 2026, Hall’s “lunch pail attitude” and nightly double-doubles are delivering the “good mojo,” in their eyes, the organization needs. Have you got Hall’s most recent NBA game logs from his January run with the Hornets ready to put the juice of his production into the big space?
