Cam Cannarella was the backbone of Clemson baseball, and now he is the future of the Miami Marlins. Selected 43rd overall in the 2025 Draft,

Cannarella’s “hit tool” ranks among the best of his draft class. He played through an injury to his shoulder and had labrum surgery in late 2024, but ended his Clemson career with a .360 average. Scouts rave about his 70-grade fielding in center field and his 91% in-zone contact rate.

The Marlins, who are hungry for high-contact hitters, see Cannarella as a fast-track prospect who could reach the big leagues sooner than later.

2026 Season Preview:

Cannarella will start the 2026 season with High-A Beloit or Double-A Pensacola. The Marlins will be cautious with his arm strength after his 2025 surgery, but he will not take long for the bat to adjust. Cannarella must be in "Top 100 Prospect" lists by mid-season.

Expect that by mid-season he will have the chance to stick around there. If he can match collegiate achievements with professional pitching, a promotion to Triple-A in late-2026 isn’t out of the question. He is the “no-doubt” centerfielder of the future for the Fish.
