One of Clemson basketball's forgotten transfers has found a new home.

That's right, Jake Heidbreder, who averaged just 14 minutes per game this past season, is headed back to the Mountain West after spending his first two seasons with Air Force.

Heidbreder announced on Wednesday night that he would be taking his talents to Fresno State.

Obviously the 2024-25 season with Clemson was underwhelming for Heidbreder as he probably expected to have a larger role after averaging 34.1 minutes per game as a freshman with Air Force and 32.5 minutes as a sophomore. He saw his playing time cut more than in half with Clemson, averaging just 4.1 points and 1.2 rebounds in 14 minutes.

With Air Force, he averaged 10.4 points and 3.2 rebounds as a freshman and 15.1 points and 3.3 rebounds as a sophomore. His role with Clemson was much more of an edge-of-the-rotation one.

Still, Heidbreder came in and hit some big shots along the way for 27-7 Clemson who was fresh off an Elite Eight appearance the year before. He shot 37 percent from deep and made all 16 of his free throws. He will finish his Clemson career with a 100 percent conversion rate from the charity stripe.

Heidbreder will have a much larger role with Fresno State which was the second-worst team in the Mountain West this past season, going 6-26 overall. The worst team in the Mountain West? Heidbreder's former school, Air Force.

This feels like the perfect level for him and Clemson fans will be rooting for him to succeed at his new home.
