It's been an eventful day for Clemson basketball.
While there's nothing really going on in the transfer portal or recruiting-wise, there has still been some news to come out of Clemson that has caught some national attention.
First, there was the official contract extension for Brad Brownell through 2031. And then that was followed by the announcement of the first opponent of the 2025-25 season shortly after by college hoops expert Jon Rothstein.
According to Rothstein, the Tigers will open the 2025-26 season against New Hampshire.

Brad Brownell against Nathan Davis.
Obviously Jon is a bit of a sicko so he gets excited about random season openers between Clemson and New Hampshire in the middle of April. This game isn't going to catch a ton of attention on a national level, but it'll be a good test for the new-look Tigers as Nathan Davis is a veteran coach who has experienced his fair share of success.
While New Hampshire hasn't been NCAA Tournament-worthy really ever, Davis is trying to do what he did in his early years at Bucknell and lead them to the Big Dance. He had a great start to his Bucknell tenure, winning 20-plus games in three of his first four seasons, but then he won a total of 40 games in his final four seasons before getting let go and moving on to New Hampshire.
Davis and Co. are coming off an 8-24 seasons so this shouldn't be that tough of a test, but it'll be an interesting coaching battle to keep an eye on.
Give me new-look Clemson by 20-plus, though.
