After being stretchered off the field in Saturday night's road win over Florida State, Clemson Tigers guard Elyjah Thurmon seems to be in good spirits after being discharged from the hospital. Thurmon was injured with just under 10 minutes to go before halftime. With there being concerns about him injuring his neck, he had to be taken to FSU Health-Tallahassee Memorial Hospital after the incident.
Thurmon only spent the night in Tallahassee before being allowed to return to Clemson. He shared an Instagram reel on Sunday reacting to the great news the Clemson Football official account shared on X. "God is Good All The Time! Thank you, everyone, for your prayers!" Thurmon posted on Instagram. While his game status will not be known until later in the week, some things are bigger than football.
Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney shared a positive update after the game on Saturday night. Prior to getting injured, Thurmon played and started in seven of Clemson's eight games so far this season. He missed the Miami game nearly a month ago before the bye, but had played in the Tigers' last three games against Charleston Southern, Virginia Tech, and at Florida State. Syracuse is the next one up.

Thank you to the medical teams from both Clemson and Florida State for their care. Elyjah, his family and the broader Clemson family are grateful for everyone's prayers and support last night.
Elyjah Thurmon's latest health update are only good vibes for Clemson
At 5-3 on the year and 3-2 in ACC play, it remains to be seen how much more Thurmon will play for the Tigers this season. Neck injuries are always scary, but advances in medical science have players returning quicker than ever. While we will not know Thurmon's status for the Syracuse game until later in the week, it may be in everyone's best interest to allow him an additional week to recover from this.
Clemson may only be a slight road favorite at Syracuse, but the Tigers still have to travel to Upstate New York for the ACC contest. With Clemson's penultimate ACC game being at home versus rival Georgia Tech, that might be the better time for Thurmon to return, in all likelihood, assuming he is healthy. Again, Clemson will surely lean on the medical staff to determine if he can suit up once more.
In the event that Thurmon can return to action, he is one game away from tying his career high in appearances of eight. With four more regular-season games left, Thurmon has a great shot at exceeding double digits, even if he misses another contest. Regardless, Thurmon being in great spirits after one of the scariest moments in his life is all that really matters. We are glad he is okay!
Right now, Clemson needs to harness all the positive momentum it can ahead of its next game at Syracuse. Although the Orange are only 4-4 on the season, Fran Brown's team has won its last two ACC games. We also need to keep in mind that Clemson lost to each of the next three teams it will face from a season ago: Syracuse, Georgia Tech, and Duke. Maybe Thurmon returns for one of them?
At this time, the Tigers look like a rejuvenated team after how they bounced back at Florida State.
