After playing their best game of the season in a thrilling victory over the Florida State Seminoles, the Clemson Tigers must quickly turn the page to face the surging Syracuse Orange. While it looked as though Fran Brown was not going to make it through this season, SU is coming off back-to-back ACC wins over North Carolina and SMU. Clemson needs to be ready for the Orange to come out swinging.

According to the FanDuel Sportsbook, Clemson will be laying 1.5 points on the road at Syracuse on Saturday afternoon. The associated moneylines for this game are Clemson -113 and Syracuse -106. You would need to bet $113 on Clemson to win $100, while only a $106 bet on Syracuse would land you the same $100. The projected point total for this ACC game comes in at a combined 50.5 points.

Syracuse might only be 4-4 (2-4) on the season, but Clemson cannot afford a letdown spot here in Upstate New York. The Florida State win on the road can be used a springboard to only good vibes ahead for the Tigers. It would be a shame if Dabo Swinney's team did not take the Orange seriously. That is exactly what happened to the Tar Heels and the Mustangs over the last two weekends, folks.

Clemson must avoid falling into the trap at Syracuse in Week 10 contest

Since Syracuse joined the ACC, the Tigers have not had the easiest of times playing in the Orange's dome. Not to say that Syracuse regularly beats Clemson either, but the Orange did get the best of the Tigers a year ago, and that was in Death Valley. With Steve Angeli back at quarterback after missing a month, the Orange have looked like a different team with him running the offense. He has played well.

What Swinney needs to do to avoid wasting all of the good from the Florida State win is to take care of the football, and not let the score be close late. In a way, Syracuse has gotten quite comfortable being uncomfortable. When a team is playing with seemingly nothing left to lose, it can be dangerous. The ACC is a total crapshoot, but Syracuse is not a team that anyone should be overlooking anymore.

After the Syracuse date, Clemson has rivalry game at home against Georgia Tech, before finishing ACC play at Duke on a Friday night in Durham. Clemson will then host a red-hot South Carolina team at home in the Palmetto Bowl. Keep in mind that Clemson lost to three of its last four opponents only a year ago. The only team they were able to beat was a struggling South Carolina team in Columbia.

Do not be surprised to see this betting line shift throughout the course of this week up until kickoff.
