Clemson has been left with no choice but to pick up the pieces after last week's soul-crushing loss to Virginia Tech. It may have only counted as one defeat on the ledger, but it really did feel like 2.5 losses mentally. For better or worse, the Tigers must turn the page and get ready for potentially a wild road game at the rival Florida State Seminoles. It will be during Halloween, nevertheless, so get ready for it.

Clemson enters play at 4-3 on the season and 2-2 in the ACC. It has wins over Georgia Southern, North Carolina, Cal, and Charleston Southern, with losses to LSU, Miami, and Virginia Tech. While Florida State is only 3-4 on the season, Mike Norvell's Seminoles have a knack for scoring points and playing some fairly competitive football at home. Dabo Swinney cannot let his team overlook FSU.

With that all in mind, here are the latest betting odds, how to watch this game, and a game prediction.

Latest betting odds for Clemson Tigers at Florida State Seminoles

According to the FanDuel Sportsbook, Florida State will be laying 5.5 points to visiting Clemson. The associated moneylines for this game are Florida State -215 and Clemson +180. This means that it would take a $215 bet on Florida State to win $100, while wagering $100 on Clemson would pocket you $180. The projected point total for the game comes in at a combined 49.5 points, down from 51.5.

Using all of that information above, a projected final score for this game would be something in the vicinity of Florida State 27.5, Clemson 22. While the odds for this game have fluctuated a bit, Florida State has been the favorite throughout for two reasons. It is a home game for the Seminoles, and the meager Tigers' offense has struggled to score points against Power Four competition all season long.

Clemson Tigers at Florida State Seminoles game prediction

This high-stakes ACC rivalry game will come down to one of two things. From the Florida State perspective, it will be all about how disciplined the Seminoles' pass defense will be. This team can score points, but it does love to give them up in bunches. As for Clemson, the Tigers need to show on offense that they can put up 30 or so points if they need to get into some sort of a low-end shootout.

Right now, it is so hard to fathom Clemson getting into the end zone at least three times on Saturday. The Tigers are going to need three touchdowns, and presumably 12 points from Nolan Hauser on special teams, to realistically have a chance at pulling off the upset. Gideon Davidson may get one on the ground, possibly two if he gets lucky. This will come down to whether Tait Reynolds can throw for one.

Unfortunately, Clemson's offense is not built right now to score quickly and in bunches, so it will lose.

Week 9 final score prediction: Florida State 30, Clemson 24.
