Clemson needs to avoid falling into the trap when taking on Syracuse on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers are coming off their best win of the season at Florida State, one that ultimately led to Mike Norvell being let go in Tallahassee. The offense scored over 30 points for the second time all season, the first over an FBS team. While Syracuse is not an ACC title contender, the Orange are improving.
Syracuse is one win worse in the standings than Clemson at 4-4 (2-4). After losing their first four league games, the Orange have bounced back with upset wins over North Carolina and SMU back-to-back. Their return to respectability has coincided with the return of quarterback Steve Angeli to the starting lineup. Syracuse is a much better football team when he is running point in the backfield.

Frankly, it may come down to who takes better care of the ball, as well as what head coach is more adaptable.

Clemson Tigers at Syracuse Orange game prediction
This will be a much closer game than the multi-score victory Clemson had over Florida State last week. Tait Reynolds will continue to play well, setting in motion to him being QB1 ahead of next year. However, Angeli and the rest of the Syracuse offense will be a bit more calm, cool, and collected than what we saw out of Florida State on Halloween night. It might come down to who makes the big play.
The incredible combination of Tom Allen's defense and Rich Bisaccia's special teams unit will help counterbalance Chad Morris' offense being down three key starters for Dabo Swinney in this one. Syracuse may use the home crowd to its advantage, but Clemson may have an extra gear in all three phases that the Orange may not be able to match. Look for Nolan Hauser to be electrifying yet again.
Clemson may not hit 30 points in back-to-back weeks, but the Tigers will become bowl eligible here.
