Playing in the ACC Tournament semifinals against Virginia Tech, No. 2 seed Clemson softball needed a massive comeback after falling behind 9-2 in the sixth inning.

It had been one of the best teams in the country all season but this type of adversity was not something it had grown accustomed to thanks to boasting a 43-12 record and earning that 2-seed in the conference tournament.

But something sparked the Tigers in the sixth inning.

Facing elimination right before the ACC title game, Clemson roared back and scored a whopping eight runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 10-9 lead and the Tigers shut the door in the top of the seventh to win the game and advance to the championship.

Social media went insane following the sixth-inning comeback which sends the Tigers to their third ACC title game in program history under head coach John Rittman who also made it in 2021 and 2022, losing to Florida State in the latter appearance. Clemson faces Florida State in this year's title game as well.

Florida State has been dominant all year long, going 18-3 in SEC play and 46-8 overall which means that Clemson will have to play a near-perfect game in the title in order to take the crown. There aren't going to be any crazy seven-run comebacks in the final two innings against the No. 1 team in the conference.

John Rittman deserves a ton of credit for what he's done with this program and he's going to be coaching for his first-ever conference tournament title this weekend.
