Yesterday was a "get right" game for the Tigers, and the reason was twofold. On one hand, Clemson needed a refresher on offense after an uninspired performance against Florida State. On the other hand, Wake Forest nearly embarrassed them at home last season, so Saturday's game gave Clemson a chance to set the record straight.

Well, the Tigers did just that. They beat the Demon Deacons 49-14, with a few players making up for poor performances last year. Cade Klubnik had 309 yards through the air for three touchdowns and another 30 on the ground, more than making up for his performance last season. But another player was looking to make it right.

Jake Briningstool caught five passes for 30 yards against Wake Forest in 2023, but yesterday, he caught only two more passes for 104 yards and a touchdown. That's why he's this week's Tiger of the Week.

Not only did Briningstool lead the team in receptions and receiving yards, but he also played like he had something to prove. At 6-foot-6-inches, he played like a 6-foot tall, 200-pound slot receiver, spinning out of tackles and gaining 40 yards after the catch. That's nearly 40 percent of his total.

The big pass catcher is one of the best weapons Clemson has, and it's good that Klubnik is starting to see him as a viable option. Adding one more reliable receiver could be how Clemson opens up the next time they play a competent defense.
