Just 24 hours after landing a four-star lineman who ranks in the top 100 nationally, Clemson football could be closing in on another top target in the trenches.
Dabo Swinney has put in some good work this offseason on the recruiting trail and he currently has the No. 4 recruiting class in the country after landing Leo Delaney on Wednesday. He's looking to climb into the top three before his second official visit weekend of the summer.
That might be possible if the Tigers can land a top target that they're officially on commit watch on Thursday night with one of the top offensive linemen in the country.
Carter Scruggs will be announcing his commitment on Thursday evening.
Scruggs was just on campus this past weekend and his finalists are Michigan, Penn State, Clemson, Georgia, and Oklahoma. The Tigers look like the team to beat here as he was just in town and he's committing before visiting his other finalists.
The four-star offensive lineman was expected to be in Ann Arbor on Friday, but unless he picks the Wolverines, it doesn't look like that's going to happen.
Scruggs would be Clemson's 17th commitment in the 2026 class and he's ranked the No. 164 overall recruit and ninth-best interior offensive lineman, per 247Sports. He holds over 30 offers and sits atop most Clemson fans' list of dream additions to the class.
Clemson received a crystal ball to land Scruggs right before his visit and it received another one on Wednesday so all signs are pointing to him becoming a Tiger.
Dabo cannot be stopped.
