Clemson emerging as a serious player in 2027 four-star linebacker

Clemson has emerged as a strong contender for four-star linebacker Noah Glover as the Tigers refocus on high school recruiting for the 2027 cycle.

Clemson’s post-portal recruiting pivot has already started to gel — and it’s happening at linebacker. Clemson Tigers now have a legitimate look into bringing four-star linebacker Noah Glover into the ranks, a fast-building Virginia prospect who has proved himself a powerful addition to the player roster soon to be one of the team's most desirable recruits in the class of 2027.

In fact, Glover received his Clemson offer earlier this week following an in-person visit from linebackers coach Ben Boulware — and so much so that the Tigers were brought directly to the top of that list of his top tier of suitors. Clemson is entering a crowded national race featuring several SEC powers, but early traction is promising.

A diehard Clemson supporter, Glover has already visited campus on several occasions, including the Tigers’ 2025 home opener against LSU. He will be back in March once again, for the annual Elite Retreat, which is a big recruiting weekend for the Clemson team, a recruiting weekend which also tends to shape early-cycle boards. Glover has been the No. 8 linebacker nationally and No. 2 prospect in Virginia, and he has been rising fast.

Starting out with no FBS offers in his sophomore season, he attracted plenty of press for his breakout defense-related season. And his offer list exploded at the beginning of his junior year—and his production was matched. Through nine games last fall, Glover made 73 tackles, five sacks, two pass breakups and a forced fumble, played in all three phases, and made contributions in the defense during the three phases. His versatility and playmaking brought him First-Team All-Region honors and a place in the Under Armour Next All-America Game.

The pursuit has both near- and long-term importance for Clemson as well. The linebacker room is changing after several portal departures and draft decisions in recent months, which means an effort to identify and develop team chemistry to get the spot quickly is a focus for the 2027 cycle. Glover would also address a structural demand. Clemson’s class entering 2027, which is currently ranking in the national top 10, has not yet added a linebacker commitment. A defender of Glover’s profile would provide some balance to a class trending well overall. It remains early.

There’s still official visits yet and competition is cutthroat. But as Clemson rolls back entirely to high school recruiting, Glover has become one of the Tigers’ most significant early defensive targets — but also one worth paying close attention to as the cycle continues.
