Brad Brownell has gotten down to work since Clemson basketball's season was ended unexpectedly by McNeese in the first round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

The Tigers were toppled by the Cowboys in a way-too-common 12 over 5-seed upset and it was especially painful because McNeese found out it would be losing its head coach, Will Wade, to NC State in the days leading up to the game. How could they possibly have the motivation to beat a red-hot Clemson team?

That's neither here nor there and we're not going to sit here and dwell on that loss because it'll get us nowhere, but Brownell saw his roster get absolutely gutted shortly following the loss.

Chase Hunter, Ian Schieffelin, Viktor Lakhin, and Jaeden Zackery all exhausted their eligibility and guys like Asa Thomas, Del Jones, and Chauncey Wiggins all hit the transfer portal. Only two guys with playing experience in 2024-25 planned to return and Brownell had to get to work immediately.

So far, he's landed Nick Davidson (Nevada), Carter Welling (Utah Valley), and RJ Godfrey (Georgia), and he's working on the backcourt after addressing some frontcourt issues.

According to a report, Clemson is one of the schools that has reached out to Wofford's Justin Bailey.

The junior guard started his career at South Carolina Upstate, played two seasons with the Spartans, and then transferred to Wofford this past season where he helped lead the Terriers to the NCAA Tournament after averaging 9.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists while shooting 49 percent from the floor and 46 percent from deep.

Clemson could add an under-the-radar sharpshooter in Bailey, but they're being pushed by schools like Georgia, St. John's, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and South Carolina.

We'll see just how high of a priority Bailey is for Brownell soon enough.
