Brad Brownell's phone has to be begging for mercy after the transfer portal opened up last Monday. The Clemson basketball coach has been working the phones for a week-plus now and he's already gotten the attention of a number of top recruits.
On Wednesday, he was able to land his first commitment from the portal in the form of Nevada forward Nick Davidson who should be able to provide a punch on both ends of the floor.
But Clemson's roster currently sits at eight scholarship players, if you count the incoming recruiting class. There are likely only 5-6 players who will be ready to play when the 2025-26 season begins which means that Brownell has to keep working the phones.
He did just that on Tuesday as Arizona guard transfer KJ Lewis revealed that Clemson is one of the programs that has reached out to him since hitting the portal.
Arizona transfer KJ Lewis is receiving interest from the following programs, he told @LeagueRDY:

Lewis is a former four-star recruit who was instrumental in getting Arizona to a 4-seed in the NCAA Tournament this season and he nearly helped the Wildcats upend Duke in the Sweet 16.
Unfortunately, his season ended a little earlier than he would've hoped and the same could be said for his Arizona career after just two seasons. He finished his two-year career averaging 8.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists whole shooting 44 percent from the floor. He had a really poor sophomore season in terms of 3-point shooting, however, making just 19 percent from deep.
Lewis did average 10.8 points and 4.6 rebounds this past season and made up for that poor 3-point shooting with solid defense and 81 percent shooting from the line.
Add him to a lineup with Nick Davidson and you have the start of a really solid ACC squad.
