Clemson basketball has been busy on the recruiting trail, and it's only a matter of time before the Tigers start landing transfer targets.

The Tigers have been reaching out to numerous transfers over the past week since the window opened on Monday and getting eliminated in the first round of the NCAA Tournament gave them an advantage in this realm.

Teams still in the NCAA Tournament can contact transfers, but their focus is elsewhere.

Since Monday, the Tigers have been busy in the portal and they've contacted almost double-digit transfers and all would be high-impact newcomers. Brownell needs to get to work because the roster has taken a hit so far this offseason with eight guys gone and only four returning from last year's team.

On Friday, another name popped up as Summit League Player of the Year Marquel Sutton revealed that Clemson reached out to him, along with several other top programs.

Sutton averaged 18.9 points and 7.9 rebounds this season with Omaha, leading the Mavericks to the NCAA Tournament after a disappointing 2023-24 season and the loss of Frankie Fidler to Michigan State. He was crucial to the turnaround of the program and now he's looking for greener pastures and a team that he could potentially make a title push with.

The wing is one of the best players in the portal right now and he'd be a nice replacement for Chaucey Wiggins who surprisingly decided to enter the portal earlier this week.

While next year's team might be filled with all-new players, it could avoid the "rebuild" tag if it can land the right guys. We've seen teams completely flip in one season and still make runs. Brownell could knock it out of the park with a huge portal haul this offseason.
