Just hours after losing Cooper Schwieger to an ACC foe (Wake Forest), Clemson basketball picked up its first big-time transfer of the offseason, pushing the roster to five players.

That's right, Brad Brownell was able to make moves with one of his three forward visitors over the weekend as Nevada's Nick Davidson committed to the Tigers over a few other potential suitors.

Davidson is the first transfer commitment of the offseason with more on the way.

Davidson was the best player on Nevada this past season, averaging 15.8 points and 6.5 rebounds to go along with 2.8 assists and 1.2 blocks. Those numbers are fantastic from a 6-foot-10 forward and that just goes to show what kind of overall player he is. He can do a little of everything, and that includes shooting 50 percent from the floor and 37 percent from deep.

The only area in which he could afford to improve, shooting-wise, is at the free throw line. Since his freshman season, he has only regressed there, shooting a career-low 69.9% as a junior.

Other than that, Davidson expects to be the team's starting power forward next season with the ability to play on the perimeter or in the post. He will be a focal point on offense and could be one of the top newcomers in the entire ACC.

Davidson was ranked as the No. 27 overall transfer in the portal.

This might be Brownell's most impressive transfer commitment at least in the past few years and it just feels like he's going to be complemented by another big and some guards from the portal. There's still a lot of work to be done by the veteran head coach.
