For the second time in as many days, Clemson basketball landed a transfer target.

This time, it's a familiar face.

According to On3, Georgia transfer RJ Godfrey decided to sign with Clemson out of the portal after one year with the Bulldogs. For those not too familiar with this situation, Godfrey transferred from Clemson last offseason and picked Georgia and after just one season with the Bulldogs, he's back with the Tigers.

Godfrey averaged a career-high 19.5 minutes per game which resulted in 6.4 points and 3.8 rebounds. He posted career-bests in all categories but we can expect his role to only increase at Clemson this season with Brad Brownell needing to upgrade the roster and fill it out after losing eight players this offseason.

This commitment comes just one day after Clemson landed Nick Davidson from Nevada. Davidson averaged over 15 points and nearly seven rebounds per game this past season and he should be an ideal replacement for Viktor Lakhin and Ian Schieffelin.

Godfrey is going to be a replacement for Chauncey Wiggins at the four or potentially the three, depending on matchups. He's not a shooter which isn't ideal, but he's a far better rebounder than Wiggins and he's going to have to take on a larger offensive role.

As of right now, Clemson has Christian Reeves and Dillon Hunter returning from this past season's team in terms of guys who didn't redshirt and now you can add Davidson and Godfrey to the fold.

It's just the start, but this team is coming together nicely and there are still a few spots left for Brad Brownell to utilize in the transfer portal.
