Brad Brownell is piecing together a nice roster for Clemson basketball after a mass exodus this offseason -- half of the departures were expected.

Four seniors are out and four more guys hit the transfer portal, headlined by Del Jones and Chauncey Wiggins. Both of those guys have already committed to new schools as Jones picked Radford (not a typo) and Wiggins chose Florida State.

The Tigers have already landed three transfer commits this offseason in Nick Davidson (Nevada), Carter Welling (Utah Valley), and RJ Godfrey (Georgia).

That means it's time for Brownell to focus on adding to the backcourt.

Clemson is making moves with some of the best guard transfers on the market, recently reaching out to Western Michigan transfer Chansey Willis Jr.

Willis Jr. is the former Mr. Basketball in the state of Michigan and he played just one season at Western Michigan before hitting the portal. He led the Broncos with 16.8 points, 5.8 assists, and 4.3 rebounds per game, shooting about 42 percent from the floor. His 3-point shooting leaves a lot to be desired as it's just under 30 percent, but he has the ability to get hot from deep.

Right now, the backcourt is a little bare for Clemson with Dillon Hunter leading the way and a four-star combo guard Zac Foster coming in. There's probably room for two more guards to commit.

If Brownell can land Willis to lead the backcourt, that would give Foster some time to learn as his backup. It would also give Clemson a strong scorer at the point guard position.

Willis just took a visit to Minnesota so Clemson will have a battle on its hands.
