Brad Brownell is on a mission.
The Clemson basketball coach lost eight guys this offseason and he's on a mission to ensure that he fills out the 2025-26 roster with players who can contribute at a high level and get the Tigers back to the top of the ACC and potentially upend Duke.
So far, Brownell has landed RJ Godfrey (Georgia, previously played at Clemson, too), Nick Davidson (Nevada), and Carter Welling (Utah Valley). That's a solid portal haul, to start.
With three incoming freshmen and three portal additions, it looks like Brownell will have two more spots to fill and he's not looking for some end-of-the-bench guy. No, he's looking for stars.
Earlier this week, Charleston transfer Ante Brzovic revealed which teams had reached out to him since he hit the portal. The list was long, but Clemson was right there.
Charleston transfer Ante Brzovic has heard from these schools since entering the portal, he told @LeagueRDY:

While it feels like it would be wise for Brownell to reach out to some guards to fill out the final roster spots, aiming for a guy like Brzovic is not a bad move. He's one of the best bigs not only in the transfer portal, but in the country.
Brzovic had a monster 2024-25 season with Charleston, averaging 18.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.0 blocks while shooting 54.4% from the floor. He did make 19-of-59 threes so he has the ability to stretch the floor, but he took fewer threes every year, from 100 in 2022-23 to 77 in 2023-24 to just 59 this past season. This feels like a confidence thing.
Clemson has its work cut out if it's going to make a splash addition here and pick up a commitment from Brzovic because it looks like everyone in college basketball wants the crafty 6-foot-10 forward.
